ABOUT
A passion for cultivating art to create understanding & action.
With a demonstrated history of vertically integrated professional services, Tierney has combined her passions for art and engineering to create design solutions that have fit the clients budgets and exceeded their expectations. From the original Children's Museum, to the Golf Course Community of TroyBurne, she has been instrumental in creating real-world, physical results that have stood the test of time and have become part of our environment.
A formal design education and BFA from the College of Art & Design, a strong technical degree in Commercial Art, as well as a hi-tech certificate from MIT's Center for Bits and Atoms, had Tierney a sought-after STEM/STEAM Instructor - from summer engineering camp for 680 young ladies (grades 7 and 9), to Mahtomedi High School's pioneering FabLab (grades 10-12), Math & Science Academy (grades 7-10) and University of St. Thomas' School of Engineering. The latter two institutions used her mobile FabLab equipment, while all three utilized all or parts of her authored curriculum. She owns, and is certified to teach and operate six exciting 21st Century hi-tech pieces of equipment; 3D Scanner, 3D Printer, Knife-Plotter, Laser-Cutter, Milling Machine and CNC Router, to help inventors, engineers and entrepreneurs navigate this new era of personal, digital fabrication and prototyping.
